DIGNITY
(Developing Individual Growth and New Independence Through Yourself)
DIGNITY helps women leave prostitution and rebuild their lives through a multi-faceted approach.
- DIGNITY staff members go to areas of frequent prostitution activity to offer information to women and children.
- Staff members conduct an education group at the Estrella Jail for women who seek support in leaving the life of prostitution.
- As an alternative to jail time, women arrested for prostitution may enroll in DIGNITY's 36-hour intensive, educational Diversion program that aims to move women from prostitution to productive societal integration.
- At DIGNITY's year-long residential programs-DIGNITY House and DIGNITY @ Sundance-women participate in an intensive recovery program that includes emotional support, life skills education, counseling, drug and alcohol recovery, case management, and employment.
DIGNITY offers services to all women who have been or are involved in prostitution, regardless of age, ethnicity or religious faith.
DIGNITY Trafficking programs identify and assist victims of human sex trafficking to safely leave bondage in the sex trade.
DIGNITY also provides a weekend program for johns arrested for prostitution to help them understand and appreciate the harm to women that they cause.
