Mike and Mary were living in a friend’s dilapidated travel trailer not fit for habitation. They had no heat, no air, no plumbing. They shared the cramped space with their grandson, Riley. Though they worked hard, Mike and Mary simply could not make ends meet. They were thousands of dollars in debt and had no home to call their own.
They came to Catholic Charities seeking shelter from the turning weather, but thanks to generous friends like you, they received so much more.
Mike and Mary participated in our Paths of HOPE (Help Out of Poverty forEver) program to learn how to improve their situation. With what they learned, Mike and Mary were able to pay down more than $4,000 of their debt in a little under a year and start a savings account.
Today, Mike and Mary are no longer homeless. They continue to pay down their debt and improve their situation. Mary was so grateful for the program that she became a Project HOPE volunteer to help others.
